Windsor Castle
today!!! The official residence of her Majesty the QUEEN!!!! The Flag was
flying which meant that Queen Elizabeth II was on the grounds! We got to view
St. George’s Chapel, the State Apartments and Queen Mary’s Dollhouse. Unfortunately,
no photos were allowed to be taken inside of the castle but you can rest
assured that the decoration was elaborate and befitting of royalty. We also got
to see the elaborate process of the Changing of the Guard, which was complete
with a band that played several songs throughout the ceremony! To complete our
day at Windsor, we got a tour of the city as well!! The event for the evening
was our third and final play, Wolf Hall. This play was actually the prequel to
the play Bring Up the Bodies! Combining
the two plays shows Thomas Cromwell’s rise to power in King Henry VIII’s
court. It is a fascinating story and it
helped connect the class to that time period in a way that a lecture could not.
