May 8th
Our day started with a lecture by Ms. Sue Gill, a blue badge
tour guide. She gave the class a lot of useful information about London and the
UK, which helped us function better in the city as well as the country. She then gave us an insightful summation of
the Kings and Queens of England, starting with the Normans and finishing with
Elizabeth II. She was absolutely wonderful and a joy to have speak to us, a
really big thank you to her for taking the time out of her busy schedule for us!
Thanks Ms. Gill!!!
After our morning lecture and lunch, we headed to central
London, taking the Tube for the first time which was very exciting!! We got off
the Tube at Piccadilly Circus and walked through the city to Trafalgar Square.
Here we got to see many different sites with so much history behind them
including the National Gallery, and Nelson’s Column. We also had a bus tour
which gave us insight to the city around us. SO much history in one place AND
IT’S ONLY OUR FIRST DAY!!!!!
